Barra is the southernmost of the larger island of the Outer Hebrides. In june 1993 we went up the hill called Heaval, with 383 meters the highest point of the island. Looking North, we could see South Uist, looking South we could almost see Berneray with Barra head, were it not that Mingulay is just a little higher and exactly in front of it.
Although not perfect, the picture below gives you an impression of the view we had that day, looking over the many large and small islands in the Atlantic, the Outer Hebrides. You can't smell the wet ground nor hear the sea birds, which I can't help.
